Discovered in 1768 by Bougainville, the island of Ambrym, (in the Vanuatu archipelago) was named (by Captain James Cook in 1774) because of its derivative in the Ranon language; Ham rim meaning, there are yams here. Long club from the island of Ambrym, made of hard wood with a shiny honey patina. Flaring delicately at the top with a flattened end, the rim decorated with four oblong shapes in relief.
