67 China : rare pair of large round terrines and their lid.
Hard porcelain with polychrome decoration of palace scenes. Ornamental frieze of flowers and fruits on the edge of the lid, repeated on the edge of the terrine.
Period: Qing dynasty, Qianlong period 1736-1795, circa 1740.
Height: 23 cm
Diameter: 27 cm
Condition: good, no restoration. Provenance: former Belgian collection (A covered ewer of the same decoration in the collections of the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels, see catalog "Chinese Export Porcelain/Chine de Commande from the Royal Museums of Art & History in Brussels", published by "The Urban Council Hong Kong", 1989, page 75).
