TORCHE OLYMPIQUE - GRENOBLE 1968
Torch made of copper sheet metal with a handle partly covered with red felt and a protective sleeve to hide the burner.
The upper part of the sleeve is openwork to make a windbreak.
The mantle is also decorated with three medallions showing the insignia of the Olympic Games of Grenoble which was created by Roger EXCOFFON (1910 - 1983).
This torch was manufactured by STEFI (Société Technique d'Etudes et Fournitures Industrielles)
H : 76,5 cm.
(Traces of oxidation and stains)
The owner's father was actively involved in the installation and management of the gas during the 1968 Grenoble Olympics.
He helped to light the torch when Alain Calmat was lighting the Olympic flame.
