Set of six Klismós type chairs; France or England, circa 1820. Mahogany wood and leather. With faults. Provenance: private collection conceived from the 1970s between London and Madrid. Measurements: 87 x 50 x 80 cm (x6). Set made up of six chairs in mahogany wood with leather upholstered seats. They have a structure with slightly warped legs and a backrest that continues with the same design. The pieces are inspired by the klismos typology, an ancient Greek chair with a curved back and tapered, outward-curving legs. The klismos was a specifically Greek invention, with no detectable earlier inspiration.
