Pair of Louis XV bâtouches; mid 18th century.
Carved and polychromed wood.
The polychromy and upholstery are missing.
They have been restored.
Provenance: private collection conceived since the 1970s between London and Madrid.
Measurements: 101 x 74 x 74 cm (x2).
Pair of armchairs inspired by the late Louis XV models, with a delicately carved and polychrome wooden structure, forming a play of sinuous lines, with a soft appearance typical of the rococo. Each of the armchairs is supported by four cabriole legs. The armrests also have a curved profile. Following Louis XV style models, it is possible to see the architectural inspiration in the structural design of the chair.
