GREECE. LUKANIA. THOURIOI. Tetradrachm ø 27mm (15.67g). 400 - 350 B.C. Vs: Head of Athena with Attic helmet n. r., sitting on calotte Scylla. R.: Bull in attack position on smooth and beaded statue line n. r., above ΘΟΥΡΙΩΝ, in section fish. SNG ANS 964; HGC 1255. rs. graphitto Δ, almost vz. Provenance: ex Giessener Münzhandlung Auktion 87, Munich 1998, no.56. On the helmet cup is a triangular raised field with dots at the corners. In SNG ANS it is assumed that it is a scyphos. It is more likely a detail of the helmet.
