Bernard Caillaud (1939-2004) is an exceptional figure in contemporary art. This physicist by training, academic, researcher, author of a thesis "Color and Randomness" in Art and Science of Art, is passionate since the 1970s on the complex relationship between mathematics and painting. Fascinated by numbers as much as by colors, he conceptualized a unique mode of expression, "algorithmic digital creation". This approach becomes radical in the 1980s, the computer becoming his only working tool, the randomness of the algorithm then gives to see a production described as "algo-kinetic". making Bernard Caillaud a unique artist, a true pioneer of digital art, whose rediscovery is a necessary evidence.
