1968 FIAT 500L Chassis No. 110F *1961111* Engine No. 110F *648281* - Black Rome license plate and first registration booklet - Car in good used condition - Running and duly registered in italy - The iconic Italian 'city car' If there is one car that has come to represent the spirit of a nation, it is the Fiat 500. Born in 1957 as a replacement for the beloved 500 Topolino, the New 500 quickly became one of the symbols of mass motorization. Although it was an inexpensive and good-looking car, it did not immediately meet with the success it had hoped for: the too Spartan set-up of the first versions and the absence of chrome (at the time an almost indispensable accessory) and the too low performance (13 horsepower) the 500 immediately risked disappearing after its introduction to the market. The first series, known as the economy model was soon revised and reintroduced by Fiat with descending side windows and a padded rear seat instead of the austere bench seat. Success was not long in coming and also thanks to Carlo Abarth's elaborations and its speed records the 500 soon won a place in the hearts of Italians. With nearly 3,000,000 units sold in almost 20 years of production, the 500 is one of Fiat's most successful cars and one of the best-known and best-loved Italian icons in the world. This 1968 example still retains its black Roma license plate and green registration booklet with pages from the period. Running and painted in the ivory tint, it retains an attractive look. The car is in good overall condition and buyers are advised that the car shows signs of corrosion in the underbody and therefore targeted restoration is highly advisable. The mileage currently indicated on the instrumentation is 66,389km. The car is being sold in the state it is now in and the buyer should be satisfied with its current condition.
