Chassis No.1532400549 - A timeless classic - Running and duly registered in Italy with Forli province orange license plate - Registered in Italy in 1984 - Functioning, original details, eye-catching Yellow Rallye color Excellent project for a conservative restoration The Beetle was one of the cars of history. The Typ 1 as it was originally known began its life thanks to the intuition of Ferdinand Porsche, who was faced with designing a car for the people that was reliable, fast and economical. Designed to be aerodynamic and fuel efficient, the Beetle went into production in 1938, but with Germany's entry into the war, examples were produced for military use and as cars for high-ranking officers. After the end of the conflict, the Beetle experienced unprecedented success: more than 20 million examples were produced until 2003. One of the variants of the Type1 was the Beetle, which was introduced in 1970 and featured many improvements such as a McPherson-type front suspension and a more pronounced nose, which was aimed at obtaining more trunk space. This 1973 Type 1 Karmann Cabriolet example still has its Forli orange license plate and retains an eye-catching Yellow Rallye color. Functioning and complete it is sold as a good conservative restoration project. The engine is running and overhaul work was recently done on the steering heads and carburetor. The car has new tires and retains its original interior and hood. The bottoms show some signs of repairs done over the years: we report of the presence of rust in the underbody and therefore a restoration work is advisable. On the body there is some defect due to the formation of small and sporadic bubbles on the bodywork. Complete with many original details, it is a timeless classic ready for a new chapter in its life.
