Chassis No. LBABO2A2100157 - Beautifully preserved restoration to February 2023 - Restored in original color - White Messina license plate - Interior preserved, new leather seats Derived from the Series 2a, the Series 3 was an update of what was already an iconic vehicle in its time. Many parts of the Series 2a were interchangeable with the Series 3, which, however, was distinguished by headlights no longer placed on the grille but on the fenders, a different grille design and made of plastic, and a newly designed interior. The Series 3 then had a different hood than the previous series with rounded corners and always retained the spare tire mountings introduced on the Series 2a. The new Series 3 retained the fully synchronized transmission with gearbox of the 2nd, which was particularly appreciated for its ease of use and effectiveness in the most difficult conditions. Offered in 3 engines, two gasoline and one diesel, it remained in production until 1985. Interestingly, in 1976, the 5th year of Series 3 production, 1,000,000 Land Rovers were produced. This 1983 Series 3 underwent a conservative restoration in February 2023 involving the body and mechanicals. Specifically, this Series 3 was fitted with a new tarp, new original tailgate, new gaskets, wheel carrier kit, new door covers, and new galvanized corner pieces. The following work was then performed: - Bushings - Piston rings - Head gasket - Valve seat overhaul - Valve rubbers and gaskets kit - Pump overhaul - Timing system kit The vehicle is duly registered as a truck for freight and own use and is also ready for export.
