An interesting percussion target rifle dating: circa 1840 provenance: Central Europe, Octagonal, rifled, 12 mm cal. barrel with precision rear sight and foresights; tang and base engraved with floral motifs; lock with enclosed hammer pointing to the rear side, the lock-plate engraved en suite. Wooden full stock (small missing parts near the piston) with knurled palm rest and area around the tang. Beautiful brass mounts finely engraved with a grotesque animal and a bird on the side of the counterplate, the heavy butt plate with curl and engraved with floral motifs, the anatomical trigger guard with similar decorations. Wooden ramrod. length 114 cm.
