A fine pin-fire revolving rifle by the Merolla brothers
dating: about 1855 provenance: Naples, Round, rifled, 15 mm cal barrel, with high rib signed 'Fratelli Merolla Privilegiati Napoli', front sight, side clutch for the bayonet; grooved, six-shot cylinder, finely engraved with floral motifs, the frame likewise, with a cobweb-shaped rosette on the left side; extractor inside the fore-end, loading gate, wooden butt and fore-end, iron mounts, trigger guard decorated en suite. Rare. length 110.5 cm.
