Alphabet with heads of animals increased vowels.
Lith. of Gangel in Metz. [Circa 1855]. (9,5 x 12). Leporello of (15) engraved and stenciled plates, enhanced with gold: black glossy paper boards, engraved and colored title applied to the first board, a brown bear bearing the title on a red background.
Remarkable anthropomorphic alphabet in period colors.
Two letters per plate, each illustrated with an animal-headed character whose name is written in French and Spanish at the foot. Twenty-five letters and the five vowels are illustrated in a style of rare modernity, finely lithographed and stenciled with golden additions.
Well preserved.
