BERMAN Eugene (1899-1972), "The Fishermen" Indian ink drawing on paper. Signed and dated 1930 lower right. On the reverse side, titled in pencil: "L'étable". 52x40cm Five characters (two on the left opening a door, two sitting against each other on a bench, the last one leaning against a kind of window at the back). We are here in the same nocturnal climate as in our previous lots. The work is from the same period and at least one oil painting has the same title. Purchased during the sale of Thursday 21 April 2005 at the Espace Tajan. This sale included some of the works presented on October 5,6,7 2004 and coming from the Julien Levy collection (see our n°10). This is the case of this drawing. It is number 352 in the catalog where it is reproduced on page 77. It is also reproduced in the catalog of the Hommage à Julien Levy sale of October 6, 2004 under n°369 on page 255.
