Steen, Jan (attr.) Leiden 1626 - 1679 ibid, genre painter and innkeeper, pupil of Adriaen van Ostade, co-founder and later dean of the Guild of St. Luke in Leiden. ''The Fat Kitchen'', multi-figure interior scene in a tavern with men and women, eating and drinking seated around a wooden table, faintly signed lower left, oil/wood parquet, HxW: 42/33 cm. Rest, horizontal drying crack with ret. With frame.
