Large still life with bird's nest - c. 1820/30 - In a vaulted cellar in front of a tree trunk piled up fruits such as melons, grapes and peaches with numerous insects, at the bottom small bird's nest with two eggs, above the scene flying songbird. Oil/wood, parkettized. Monogrammed lower right (Cyrillic?). 80 x 60 cm. - Copy after Jan Davidsz de Heem (Utrecht 1606-1684 Antwerp), only without the dead bird at lower right. The original is in the Old Masters Picture Gallery of the Dresden State Art Collections.
