Famous edition called of Fessard, the most richly decorated of the 18th century. Dedicated to the children of France, it is entirely engraved on strong laid paper, and illustrated with a frontispiece, 6 engraved titles, 243 out-of-text figures, and 243 vignettes and 226 culs-de-lampe, all after Étienne Fessard, engraved by various artists. Rubbing, spotting and staining to the binding; two headpieces nicked. Some foxing.
