Antoniucci VOLTI (1915-1989) The Parisian women ,1962 Sculpture in bronze with blue patina Signed and stamped on the base. Foundry of the Plain. Numbered EA III/IV 103 x 58 x 26 cm This work is part of a series of sculptures on this theme, Les Parisiennes, the first of which, about one meter high, was presented in 1958 in the Salon des Peintres de leur temps, whose theme was Parisiennes. This series of representations of Parisian women by Volti culminated in 1992 with the creation of a stone sculpture of this model, in Garges-lès-Gonesse, which is, unfortunately, now lost. The model that we present for sale today is part of this series of Parisian women and the cast number corresponds to the numbering of the sculpture that was exhibited in five state museums in China, from 2014 to 2015. It had, moreover, been selected to serve as an illustration for one of the posters of these exhibitions.
