Cabinet box. Augsburg, c. 1736. ''Enamel de Saxe'' The slightly domed lid with white and colored enamel on copper decorated with Minerva, Hercules and Victoria. Quatrefoil reserves, flowers and garlands with blue bows, fields with lattice decorations and portraits. Octagonal, cranked form on flat mother-of-pearl feet. Covered with tortoiseshell, mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stones, interspersed with silver filigree overlays. Inside lined with velvet, lid opening with engraved mirror glass, decorated with hunting scenes, garlands and vases with flower bouquets. Damage, missing parts, some parts present. Lid handwritten inscribed.''Josef Liebrand himself made Kistlein in Augsburg. Such 3 Kistlein 1736'' H: 13 x 21 x 16.5 cm. Plaque Berlin, probably Alexander Fromery, decor probably Christian Friedrich Herold. A similar box from the Collection Yves Saint Laurent et Pierre Bergé lot 645 was auctioned at Christie's on February 25, 2009.
