Order of Orange-Nassau - a grand cross with swords on sash and buttonhole rosette, mid-20th century
Silver cross, blue and white enamel on both sides, in medallion a striding lion and the ruler's cipher "W" under crown, movable crown araffe with colored enameled trim, wide sash ribbon. Silver darkened, enamel good, occasional small hairline cracks, ribbon somewhat faded, signs of wear and age.
Width of the cross 5,5 cm, weight of the order ca. 75 g, width of the sash ribbon 10 cm. Highest award level. Also a buttonhole rosette in the ribbon colors. In new cardboard box. An enclosed letter from the consignor states that General Feyzi Mengüç (1896 - 1966), Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Army, received the offered medal from the Dutch Queen during his visit to Holland in 1956.
