Civil Merit Order, 1st Class, 1st pattern, 1st type, 1891 - 1895
Set of 1st Class, consisting of 1st Class Cross, surmounted by a round princely crown with departing finely engraved pendilia, silver-gilt and enameled, without hallmarks, on original and period matching sash with rosette, the reverse of the oak quarry engraved by hand. Breast Star, silver, partially gilt, the applied cross and medallion enameled, on pin, the reverse with maker "JOHANN SCHWERDTNER WIEN", in matching award case, the lid lining gold maker's imprint "Joh. Schwerdtner / Wien / VI. Mariahilferstrasse 47.". Cross and star with several old enamel repairs, enamel chips and hairline cracks.
