Biblia cum summariis concordantiis: divisionibus: quattuor repertoriis p[ro]positis: numerisq[ue] foliorum distinctione: terse et fidelit[er] imp[re]ssa. S.l. [Lyon], François Fradin and Jean Pivard 1497. In-4, fawn calf, triple gilt fillet, ornate spine, inner lace, gilt edges (Lebrun, 1853). Important and rare incunabula from Lyon. The text of the Vulgate is printed in gothic type on two columns, with the concordances of the Old and New Testaments in the margins, and the lexicon of Hebrew names which occupies the end of the volume on three columns. The edition includes in the introductory leaves the table of Gabriele Bruno, the first alphabetical table of the Bible, originally published in 1492. François Fradin, known as Poictevin, active in Lyon from 1493 to 1537, and Jean Pivard were associated for only two publications: the Interpretatio in summulas of Pierre d'Espagne, whose final printing is dated 15 March 1497, and the present Bible, published on 23 December of the same year. The text is decorated with large initials painted in red throughout the volume. A carefully restored copy: gaps filled with missing text on the introductory leaves, running title cut by the binder on the same leaves, repairs affecting some letters on ff. 3, 4, 19-21, 24-26, 51, worm holes on the last twelve leaves; without the last blank leaf. Small tear on the second plate. Delaveau & Hillard, n°756 - Darlow & Moule, 6088 - ISTC ib00602000 - HC 3121 - Goff B602 - CIBN B-424 - Pr 8668 - BMC VIII 333 - GW 4279.
