On f. 43v there is a frame with small boxes containing precious stones. An engraving of the Mass of St. Gregory pasted on f. 5v. Book of Hours for the use of Rome, without a calendar, written for a congregation of brothers or sisters. The illuminations are by a principal hand of great quality; the rest of the manuscript, with the exception of the suffrages, is by another hand, more naive in style, but no less charming. The cycle of illustrations for the Hours of the Virgin follows the French tradition, with the Flight into Egypt and the Coronation of the Virgin. The artist originated in the southern Netherlands around 1510-1520. Beautiful borders with dogs, deer, a hybrid horse, a fly, a butterfly, a snail, a sheep, a cat, a monkey and a wolf, in the Ganto-Bruges style, as well as the technique of painting on inset leaves.
