Satyricon. Cum notis doctorum virorum. Paris, Mamert Patisson, 1587. 2 parts in one volume in-12, brown calf, double fillet, smooth spine, speckled edges, slipcase (17th century binding). Second edition from the presses of Mamert Patisson.
Copy having belonged to the memorialist Gédéon Tallemant des Réaux (1619-1692), the author of the tasty Historiettes, with his autograph signature crossed out twice. It contains numerous 17th-century handwritten notes in the margins, in Latin and Greek, which are probably incorrectly attributed to Tallemant des Réaux. The volume later passed to François-Richard de La Londe (1685-1765), poet and archaeologist from Rouen, with a handwritten bookplate on the title.
From the library of Dr. Lucien-Graux (1958, VI, n°214), with torn bookplate.
Covers rebacked, hinges restored.
