In-8, red morocco, triple gilt fillet and corner fleurons, mosaic gilt coat of arms in the center, spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis, inner lace, gilt edges (period binding). A very nice copy in red morocco with the mosaic coat of arms of the counter-revolutionary Jean-Jacques Duval d'Eprémesnil (1745-1794), surmounted by his motto : Patriæ impendere vitam. Councillor at the Parliament of Paris and deputy of the nobility at the States General, Duval d'Eprémesnil was involved in the secret networks of the counter-revolution. Tried with Malesherbes, he was guillotined on April 22, 1794.
