VINCENZO CINQUE (Naples, 1852-1929). "Young fisherman". Bronze. Signed on the back. Marble base. It has some slight chipping on the base. Size: 24 x 14 x 25 cm. sculpture; 3 x 10 x 14 x 14 cm. pedestal. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Vincenzo Cinque is considered one of the fathers of Neapolitan sculpture in the 20th century. Working mainly in bronze, Vincenzo Cinque was particularly famous for his adolescent fishermen such as the present one and his laughing young boys in various poses, although he also produced female figures in the Art Nouveau style.
