Sculpture in calamine, work of the Frenchman Charles Lévy, later converted into a lamp. The sculptor has appropriated the Greco-Roman technique of the wet cloths, reinterpreting it from a modern point of view and showing great skill in the expression of the fine gauzes that adhere to the body, revealing the sensuality of the feminine canon. It represents an allegory of peace. The pose of the figure may have been inspired by Delacroix's allegory of freedom, although Lévy does not work in the wake of Romanticism but of Classicism, but at the same time he anticipates Art Nouveau solutions. The torch held by the young woman acts as the lampshade, adopting beautiful flamboyant forms.
