Austrian rococo painter Josef Anton Zoller became famous for his frescoes in the churches of Tyrol. Early signed works are exceedingly rare. This small oil sketch from 1758 is probably the earliest surviving completely independent work by the artist, who worked closely with his father Anton Zoller in his early work.
