Belgium - Propaganda print against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, during the Brabant revolution 1787-1790, depicting an allegory about the edict of October 16, 1787, legislation targeting the Catholic seminary in Brabant. The Austrian eagle tries to escape with the goods of the Catholic churches and the seminary, but is stopped by the Brabant Lion. A religious statue and the ruins of a church lay abandoned on the ground. At the bottom, one can read: "Les Biens d'autruy tu ne désireras pour les avoir injustement". Copper engraving dated 1787, sheet size : 23 x 27,5cm + the frame. Rare copy. A copy of this engraving is kept in the Rijksmuseum.
