Hermann'sche Kunsthandlung in München", sheets each 28,7 x 19,3 cm, published by Johann Michael Hermann Munich 1827, throughout slightly foxed, otherwise good condition 1637 Very rare complete set of all 16 etchings and the title page on uniformly large sheets, the City Archives of Munich owns of this set only the title page (signature DE-1992-HV-BS-B-20-57) Johann Michael Hermann (Vienna 1793 - 1855 Munich) was especially known as a gifted paper restorer, his technique of depositing resp. His technique of backing or setting on paper was of such high quality that in the 19th century the term "hermannizing" even came into use for this special technique. In 1821 he opened an art publishing house with an art shop in Munich, which quickly became one of the most respected salons in the city.
