Provenance : Anonymous sale ; Paris, Hôtel Drouot, Daguerre, March 13, 2009, n° 164 (as a portrait of Madame Royale)
Comment : A round miniature very similar to ours, certainly by the same artist, was in the Alain Bancel collection (post-death sale, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, Piasa, 21 May 2003, no. 287). This miniature was identified as a portrait of the Dauphin, younger brother of Madame Royale.
