François-Hippolyte DESBUISSONS, known as HIPOLITE around 1745 - after 1807 Portrait of Marie-Thérèse Charlotte of France, nicknamed "Madame Royale", as a child Miniature on ivory, oval shape Signed and dated 'hipolite / 1789' at the bottom right The model identified as 'Madame Royale' on a modern label on the reverse (Cracks in the upper part, one in the face) Gilded metal frame topped by a ribboned bow, with a clasp Portrait of Marie-Thérèse Charlotte de France, called "Madame Royale", miniature on ivory, signed and dated, by Hipolite 6,10 x 4,60 cm (2,40 x 1,81 in.) Provenance : Anonymous sale ; Paris, Hôtel Drouot, Daguerre, March 13, 2009, n° 164 (as a portrait of Madame Royale) Comment : A round miniature very similar to ours, certainly by the same artist, was in the Alain Bancel collection (post-death sale, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, Piasa, 21 May 2003, no. 287). This miniature was identified as a portrait of the Dauphin, younger brother of Madame Royale. This lot, in accordance with the regulations in force, has a CIC and is in free circulation within the European Union. It is not allowed to leave the European Union.
