RUSSIAN INFANTRY OFFICERS SABRE WITH SCABBARD, M1826
Ca. 19th century AD.
A sabre sword. This exquisite weapon is a stunning example featuring a curved fullered blade with a pointed tip. The hilt is a work of art in itself, with a brass D-shaped stirrup guard, ornately adorned with intricate floral relief decorations and engraved with an Imperial crown with a monogram inscription that reads "St. Petersburg, 1834". The hilt is ribbed with grip wire, which provides a comfortable and secure grip. The simple pommel is decorated with vegetal tendril motifs, adding a touch of elegance to the weapon's design. This Imperial Russian Sabre is housed in its original scabbard, which is as breathtaking as the weapon itself. The scabbard features brass fittings, which complement the sabre's ornate design perfectly.
