HENRYK STAZEWSKI ACRYLIC ON WOOD RELIEF PAINTING Henryk Stazewski, Polish, 1894 to 1988, acrylic painting on wood mounted on masonite depicting an abstract composition, 1966. Signed, dated and stamped, on the backside. Framed. An original paper label of Galerie Chalette, New York, on the backside. Henryk Stazewski is known for Painting and sculpture. Henryk Stazewski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1913 to 1920. In the beginning of his carrier he painted still life and exhibited temporarily with the Formist group 1922. From that time on his creations became closer to the constructivism stream. Beside painting he was also engaged in book graphic, interior design, and scenography. He was also a member of the Community of Advertising Graphic Artists. In 1930 he helped to organize the gathering of works of the vanguard artistic stream artists destined for Lodz museum. He created a cycle of works which were a study of surfaces, lines and colors in different arrangements. One of a kind artwork. Condition: Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear.
