A Russian Neoclassical paper knife or letter opener in the style of a Roman gladius sword. The blade is made of polished jade. The gilt silver handle is decorated with red guilloche enamel and miniature amethyst cabochons. The handle has a silver elephant finial with enamel and amethyst accents.
