The martyrdom of St. Paul and St. Peter. Copperplate engraving after Parmigianino. 25,9 x 44,6 cm. 1524-1527. B. 8, TIB (Commentary) .008 probably after S3. Small shield with triple mountain and star.
The engraving highlighted by Bartsch as one of the most beautiful sheets of Caraglio in an excellent impression mostly with fine margins, partly with margins around the border line, with the publisher's address of Ioseph de Rubeis. Small lack at upper left and lower right corners, light creasing at corners, some yellowing and spotting, one box pleat at right margin, smoothed centerfold, otherwise in good condition. With the signature of Naudet, Paris (Lugt 1937).
