A cavalry helmet, epoch King Charles Albert of Sardinia (1831-1849)
dating: Second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Piedmont, Iron skull (small pitting) with fur band (missing parts) featuring a Savoy-cross badge; crest with gilded brass comb featuring lion's head in bas-relief and badge with crowned monogram 'CA' at the base. Armoured chin-straps with brass plates. A fabric cockade on the left side . Sweat-band and leather cap (partly damaged). A rare helmet of Piedmontese Cavalry used from 1845 to 1849. height 29 cm.
