A herald's mantel with coat of arms from Brabant and Flanders
dating: 18th/19th Century provenance: Belgium, Made of linen. The right side and the left sleeve covered with orange silk and with a black lion; the left side and right sleeve covered with black silk featuring a brown lion; on the rear part all is inverted. Gilded-thread pauldrons, edges and fringes, the collar is made of fine two-tone brocade with threaded stitching. Lined with white linen. Damage and missing pars caused by use and time. Rare. height 86 cm.
