Kornberger, Alfred Partial nude with clouds, 1988 Acrylic on paper Signed and dated lower right 99,5 x 69,5 cm Because of his humble origins, Alfred Kornberger initially trained as a lithographer and attended weekend and evening classes at the Künstlerische Volkshochschule, where Otto Mühl was also studying at the time. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Subsequently, he received numerous prizes and scholarships, which enabled him to travel extensively and to run a popular studio. His career reached its peak in the second half of the 1980s. In 1988, the year this painting was created, he dedicated a separate exhibition to his nude paintings at the Mahringer Gallery in St. Pölten under the title "Alfred Kornberger: Erotic Art. Oil paintings, watercolors".
