MG MIDGET MK III, 1972 The smallest and most inviperate of the Midgets Chassis: 104758 Odometer reading: 30537 km. Most coveted version Sportiest engine Guaranteed fun The Mk I Midget was initially equipped with a 948 cc A-series engine, which was replaced in 1962 with the new 1098 engine. It featured spring/elliptical rear suspension and drum brakes, which were later upgraded in 1962 as well, just like the engine. 1964 saw the release of the Mk II Midget, which featured vastly improved handling due to the new semi-elliptical suspension; it also featured new doors with changed exterior handles and even roll-up windows. 1966 saw the release of the Mk III Midget, which featured several substantial updates with the addition of the 1275 cc engine derived from the Cooper S. Along with this came Rostyle wheels and there were a number of minor body modifications, including the addition of wheel arches in 1972. Offered here is a 1972 Mk III MG Midget, thus the most desirable model and year in the MG Midget chronology. It features the classic styling of the early Midgets with chrome bumpers, combined with the speed derived from the 1275cc engine and benefits from the various handling improvements from the earlier years of development. Along with this Rostyle wheels were fitted and there were a variety of minor body changes including the addition of round wheel arches in 1972. Offered here is a 1973 Mk III MG Midget, arguably this is the most desirable model and year in the MG Midget timeline.
