ATTRIBUTED TO JAN BRUEGHEL THE ELDER (V. 1525-1569) STUDY OF DOGS Ink on paper - Att. to Jan Brueghel the Elder, Study of dogs, ink on paper 7,20 x 11,80 CM - 2,8 x 4,6 IN. - - Our sheet appears to be preparatory to the painting "Diane et ses nymphes s'apprêtant à partir pour la chasse" in the Musée de la Chasse in Paris, which features the same dogs in the foreground (ill.1). A similar dog can also be found in the study of dogs painted by Jan Brueghel the Elder and preserved at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna (GG 6985).
