A Dutch engraved 'friendship' drinking glass, 18th century, Netherlands, H 18.8 cm, D 7 cm, Finely engraved with a long text that reads: ‘De Vriendschap, Mind gy edele vriendschap teeder vuld my dan tot aan den rand, drinkt mij leeg en vuld mij weeder, steld my zoo uw vriend ter hand’ which loosely translates as ‘The Friendship, if you appreciate friendship then fill this cup to the brim and drink it, then refill and hand it to your friend’. Pristine condition. No damage or restoration. Airbubbles and small imperfections in the glass as to be expected (typical manufacturing flaws and irregularities). No restoration.
