A Dutch engraved amorous glass wine cup, 18th century, Netherlands, H 19 cm, D 7.9 cm, A comical depiction of a blindfolded cupid walking past a lovemaking couple (you can see their bare legs sticking out from under a bush with articles of clothing scattered around). And the text ‘Le Bonheur des Amans, Honisoit Qui Mal-Y-Pense’ (which is French and translates as ‘The Happiness of lovers, shame to those who thinks bad of it’. Pristine condition. No damage or restoration. Airbubbles and small imperfections in the glass as to be expected (typical manufacturing flaws and irregularities). No restoration.
