Light cavalry officer's saber model 1822.
Horn handle with filigree. Chased brass mounting. Short-skirted cap. Four-point hilt stamped "CV". Straight, rounded-back blade, engraved "Manufre Imple de Châtellerault 1853", with counter-edge and double hollow sides. Iron scabbard with two bracelets.
E.M. (hilt re-soldered and straightened at quillon).
