Miniature on ivory, French school of the early 19th century, Portrait d'officier à mi-corps, oil on ovoid panel, mounted in molded blackened wood and brass frame. Dimensions 11 x 10 cm, central cartouche 5 x 4 cm. Handwritten on the reverse: "Gottfried Eissen chef de bataillon born January 31, 1777 died April 11, 1814 from wounds - 37 years old" - Frame broken and glued back together.
