Our drawing appears to be preparatory to a ceiling for M. Mansard's mansion on rue des Tournelles. It is of the same technique and size as a drawing cited by Yves Picard in his catalog on Corneille (see Y. Picard "La vie et l'œuvre de Jean-Baptiste Corneille", Editart-Quatre Chemins-Imprimerie des Beaux-Arts, Lyon,1987, p.79).
