A MARKED YIXING CERAMIC TEAPOT AND COVER, c. 1920s
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Of hexagonal compressed globular form with curved spout and c-shaped handle, carved below the mouth rim with a band of narrow lotus leaves, the cover similarly decorated. With a six-character seal mark to the base which reads ‘Zhening Yuchengyao zao’, the underside of the cover with a further mark.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear.
Provenance: Parisian private collection, according to the current owner acquired at Drouot before 2015.
