A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE BALUSTER VASES AND COVERS, QING
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The baluster sides rising from a flaring foot to a short cylindrical neck, each decorated with two birds sitting atop a craggy rockwork surround by peonies and a blossoming tree, the neck and foot all with a band of flowering sprays. The vases surmounted by domed covers with floral decoration, both with a Buddhist lion finial atop. The bases with a double circle.
Condition: Overall good condition with traces of wear and age, firing irregularities including dark spots, and pitting. One vase with fritting to the lip.
