A SMALL BLUE AND WHITE ‘MOUNTAIN AND RIVER’ PORCELAIN TRAY, 19th CENTURY
China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Of rectangular form, painted in underglaze blue with a pavilion at the shore of a river and mountains in the background, framed by a foliate border, the exterior with a straight border and scrolling details.
Condition: Very good condition, minor wear, few light surface scratches, and manufacturing flaws including pitting and dark spots.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.
