A GROUP OF FOUR BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN VASES, QING China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The first a baluster vase with a flaring neck, painted in underglaze blue with a scene of a fisherman in a mountainous landscape. The second a vase of pear-shaped form with a long slender neck, depicting scholars playing weiqi in underglaze blue. The third a celadon ground blue and white baluster vase with a trumpet mouth, displaying peaches, leaves, rocks, a butterfly, and other nature elements. The fourth a small vase of slender baluster shape with a flaring neck, depicting a naturalistic landscape. Condition: Overall good condition with surface wear, nibbling, and manufacturing irregularities including pitting and dark spots. The first vase with a restoration to the lip. The third vase with a hairline to the lip. The fourth vase with a chip to the lip. Provenance: Austrian private collection. With collectors’ label to the base of the first vase.
