A LARGE PAIR OF FAMILLE VERTE PORCELAIN VASES WITH COVERS, 19th CENTURY China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Each of baluster shape rising from an everted foot to a straight neck surmounted by a domed cover, the exteriors finely enameled with square panels of long-tailed birds perched on flowering branches and weathered rocks, all on a scrolling ground of chrysanthemum vine, below a band of cartouches with scholar's objects reserved on a trellis ground, with further Daoist symbols on the neck and cover, the last surmounted by a bud-shaped finial. The underside with a double circle in underglaze blue. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing flaws. One vase with a forked hairline crack to the neck and rim. One cover with glaze flakes to the bud finial. Provenance: Private collection in Paris, France.
